I am excited to share that my one-act play Reclassified has been selected for the Staged Reading Series at the 15th Annual Atlanta Black Theatre Festival, on Saturday, September 5th.

The play began its journey in 2024 as Shades of Honor, a ten-minute work selected for Rapid Lemon Productions' Variations Project under the theme "Variations on Courage." Since then, the story has continued to grow and evolve into Reclassified, a larger theatrical work exploring questions of race, identity, friendship, and belonging.

Set on a segregated Army Air Forces base in late 1945, Reclassified follows PFC Lee Walters as he discovers that a key piece of his military record has been mysteriously—and dangerously—altered. What begins as a bureaucratic mystery becomes an examination of racial passing, loyalty, and the personal cost of navigating a nation divided by race and color.

Being selected for the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival marks an exciting milestone in the play's development. I look forward to sharing Reclassified with audiences, artists, and theatre professionals from across the country and continuing the conversation around the themes at the heart of this work.
